Jannik Sinner is working hard during his time away from the ATP Tour.

The World number one has not played since successfully defending the Australian Open title in January.

This is because he is currently serving a three-month ban for testing positive for banned substance cholesterol on two occasions in 2024.

Sinner’s ban commenced in February and it will end on May 4, meaning he has less than a month before he can return to competition.

Jannik Sinner was spotted at a gym in Monaco amid his suspension

The Monte Carlo Masters commenced on Monday and Jannik Sinner is not in the draw due to his doping ban.

Despite not being able to play competitively, he can still train and that is what the Italian is doing to ensure he is in the best possible shape when his ban is lifted.

In fact, Sinner went to the gym in Monaco and spotted Tennis channel presenter Prakash Amritraj, who he had a conversation with.

While on air Amritraj recalled his exchange with Sinner and explained what his attitude and condition was like as he prepares to return to action in May.

“I was at a different gym than I usually go to over here. I usually go to the one where a lot of the players go to,” Amritraj said. “But I was on the other side of Monaco this morning and half way through the session I see this good looking gentleman come over and give me a hug.

“I said man, I have not seen you in a while, it’s great to see you. We had a chance to catch up. I wanted to see what kind of spirits he was in.

“He was in a great way. He was very happy to be able to put this thing behind him once and for all and he was very happy to be able to put this thing behind him once and for all. He made it clear he was going to be ready, I am going to be so ready when I come back in Rome.

“He was getting put through the hard yards this morning at the gym. But it was great to see him because he was a smiling great face we have had on the tour and he has been excelling so much.

“The tour misses him but I am sure he is watching every single result and if anything I got from him today he is aching to get back out there.”
