The 2024 US Open has reached its conclusion, with Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka winning the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively.
Boris Becker has congratulated Sinner on his US Open victory, with 2003 champion Andy Roddick reacting to Sabalenka’s win.
Both Europeans overcame Americans in their finals, with Sinner beating Taylor Fritz and Sabalenka beating Jessica Pegula.
And both finals were won by the favourites in straight sets, with the Italian winning 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 and the Belarusian winning 7-5, 7-5.
Sinner now has two Grand Slam titles to his name following his 2024 Australian Open success, with two-time Australian Open winner Sabalenka securing her third major title.

Aryna Sabalenka continues superb season with US Open success
Azarenka certainly knows plenty of what Sabalenka has been through, with the former having also won back-to-back Australian Open titles once upon a time.
Moreover, she is a former world number one like her compatriot, although Azarenka has fallen short in her US Open attempts, having been a losing finalist on three occasions.

She lost back-to-back finals to the legendary Serena Williams at the major event, with Sabalenka ensuring history did not repeat itself after losing to Coco Gauff last year.
The current world number two was left in tears after that defeat at Flushing Meadows in 2023, but was adamant that would not happen again this summer.
Sabalenka now has three titles to her name in 2024, with the hard-court specialist also beating Pegula in last month’s Cincinnati Open final.
