Amanda Anisimova won a second WTA 1000 event of the year on Sunday when she came through in three sets against Linda Noskova at the China Open.

Anisimova made a prediction about Noskova shortly after, and quite clearly, she believes that she will be set for a bright future after this run in China.

It’s been a tough time of things out in China for a host of players, and after winning the title, Anisimova did provide a fitness update of her own ahead of moving to Wuhan for the next tournament.

It proved to be a great week for the 24-year-old, with Anisimova dismantling Coco Gauff in the semifinal, beating her compatriot in less than an hour to progress to the final.

Mary Pierce sends message to Amanda Anisimova

Anisimova is the toast of tennis this morning, but there is little time to celebrate with her first match in Wuhan scheduled for this week.

There, the world number one and US Open champion Aryna Sabalenka will return to action for the first time since Flushing Meadows, and that might offer a test for Anisimova.

After winning the China Open, Anisimova took to Instagram and said: “What a few weeks. Beijing, you’re amazing! Thank you all so much for the support and love, what a ride it’s been, team, love you guys. It’s been fun.”

After posting that message, two-time Grand Slam champion Mary Pierce offered a reply to Anisimova, raving about her performance with a heartwarming message, which read: “Congrats Amanda Anisimova – so happy for you and your team!”

Anisimova will now be eyeing bigger tournaments

Aside from the Grand Slam events, there are no bigger tournaments than WTA 1000 events, and this win is sizeable in isolation for Anisimova.

However, after losing in the finals at Wimbledon and the US Open, Anisimova will be desperate to get over the line at one of those tournaments in the near future.

The Australian Open will be the next opportunity to claim one of the big titles, and finishing 2025 with a flourish should help Anisimova build up some momentum.

Anisimova has been outstanding in the second half of 2025 and on current form, she will be turning up to every event truly believing that she can win the title.
