Amanda Anisimova is the toast of the tennis world after winning a second WTA 1000 title with a three-set victory over Linda Noskova at the China Open.

Immediately after beating her, Anisimova made a prediction about Noskova, and clearly, she believes that she’s set for a bright future in the game.

Anisimova was critical of her performance against Coco Gauff despite needing under an hour to defeat her compatriot and end her reign as the China Open champion.

Anisimova is a likeable player on the tour, but it appears that she wasn’t completely happy with her fitness after the final against Noskova and made an intriguing claim.

Amanda Anisimova provides fitness update

Anisimova has had a busy second half of 2025, reaching two Grand Slam finals at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Now, she’s got over the line and managed to claim another WTA 1000 title, beating Noskova 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 to claim the China Open crown for the first time.

It hasn’t been easy for the American, though and after the match, she expressed some concerns over her fitness and shared how close she came to pulling out of the tournament.

She said in her press conference: “Yeah, I mean, I was having pain in my foot and in my calf, more in the third round.

“I think it was obvious in one of the matches where I was in pain. I was just hurting all day when I was walking. I’m still having a bit of pain, but it’s nothing serious. It’s just like annoying aches and pains.

“The good thing at the end of the day is it’s nothing that would limit me or prevent me from keeping playing for the rest of the season.”

Amanda Anisimova shares whether she plans to tweak her schedule

The tennis schedule has come under scrutiny in recent times, with a host of players bemoaning the number of tournaments that players have to play in.

Carlos Alcaraz is the latest to moan at the schedule, pulling out of the Shanghai Masters after winning the title in the Japan Open.

Anisimova, it seems, is in no mood to copy Alcaraz any time soon and has confirmed that she’s going to be moving on to the next tournaments for the remainder of the year.

She continued: “Right now, my schedule remains. I haven’t really talked much about the schedule nor have I had many conversations with my team. As of now, that still remains the same.”

As things stand, Anisimova is down to play in Wuhan and will face either Varvara Gracheva or Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the last 32, having received a bye from the round of 64.
