Amanda Anisimova is through to the final of the China Open after dominating Coco Gauff in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

In the all-American affair, the US Open finalist cruised to victory against Gauff, who struggled with her serve once again for the majority of the contest.

Anisimova has now reached her second WTA 1000 final of the 2025 season, having made it to the championship match of the Qatar Open in February.

Her triumph over Gauff marks a second consecutive top-ten win, and the 24-year-old is now ‘super excited’ for the final.

“I was excited to play here in my first semifinal,” said Anisimova in her on-court interview after the match.

“I was able to put on a really good performance. I knew I was going to have to play really well if I was going to beat Coco. I’m excited to be in the final.”

Ahead of the final, she said: “It’s super exciting, and I’m super happy to be in my first final here.

“I have been saying every time since I walked onto the court for the first time that I love playing here, and the crowd support has been so amazing since the first day that I got here.

“I really think that has carried me through this entire tournament, and hopefully everyone can come out and support me in the final again.”

Amanda Anisimova makes consecutive WTA finals for the first time

For the first time, Anisimova has reached the finals of consecutive WTA tournaments she has appeared in.

She advanced to her second Grand Slam final of the season at the US Open in September, where she suffered a straight-sets defeat to Aryna Sabalenka.

Anisimova is arguably in the best form of her career and now has the chance to fight for her fourth tour-level title, and second of 2025.

In the Beijing title bout, she will face either US compatriot Jessica Pegula or 26th seed Linda Noskova.
