Amanda Anisimova is a WTA 1000 winner for the second time in her career after beating Linda Noskova to win the China Open.

The American performer came through in three sets after being pegged back following a first set that saw Anisimova bagel her opponent.

Anisimova was hailed by Coco Gauff after she was thrashed in under an hour by the player who sits directly below her in the WTA world rankings.

Her performances at the China Open have been magnificent and this win is the reward for months of hard work in the second half of 2025.

Amanda Anisimova makes prediction about Linda Noskova after China Open

The way in which Noskova bounced back from losing the opening set was admirable, and she showcased all of her potential.

Anisimova is anticipating a solid future for the young player and has sent her very best wishes to her beaten opponent shortly after claiming the China Open.

She said in her on-court interview: “Yes, for sure it’s been an incredible few weeks. I want to congratulate Linda, you’re still so young and you have a lot more years left, and I’m sure we’re going to play some more great matches against each other, so yes, congratulations to you and your team.”

Anisimova will now move on to Wuhan for another WTA 1000 event and it would appear that silverware will be in her sights to end the year.

Anisimova joins elite group of players after China Open win

The world number three has become the latest player born since 2000 to claim victory at a WTA 1000 event, with only three other players achieving the feat.

Bianca Andreescu, Iga Swiatek and Mirra Andreeva are the other three players to have won at one of these events, with Anisimova joining the group.

Anisimova has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the rankings, and 12 months ago, she was down in 43rd spot on the list of rankings.

Losing in two Grand Slam finals is no mean feat and the next challenge for Anisimova will be to get over the line and claim one of the game’s big prizes.

Noskova will now look to go again too and after mixing it with the game’s top stars this week, she will take confidence from the tournament.
