Carlos Alcaraz saw his bid to win a third consecutive Wimbledon title ended by Jannik Sinner in the final.
Alcaraz admitted he was left confused by Sinner in the Wimbledon final, which he lost in four sets on Centre Court.
There has been a big reaction to this final between the top two players on the ATP Tour, with even Rafael Nadal sending a message to Alcaraz and Sinner.
Alcaraz is sometimes compared to Roger Federer, but this defeat means he can no longer match a record by the now retired Swiss.

Prior to his Wimbledon final defeat against Sinner, Alcaraz had won all five of his Grand Slam finals.
This included the five set thriller between Alcaraz and Sinner at Roland Garros, where he was able to save three championship points in a dramatic comeback victory.

However, he was unable to extend his record to six Grand Slam finals wins in a row, something that 20-time major winner Federer has been able to do.
Federer actually won all seven of his first Grand Slam finals and is the only man in history to achieve that feat.
Although Alcaraz could not win his sixth consecutive major final, women’s singles champion Iga Swiatek has won six Grand Slam finals in a row after beating Amanda Anisimova.
Who did Roger Federer beat in his first seven Grand Slam finals?
Federer won his first major title at Wimbledon in 2003, and would go on to win six consecutive Grand Slam finals.
This included three Wimbledon titles, as well as two Australian Opens and two US Opens.
Roland Garros was the final major title missing from Federer’s trophy cabinet at the time, and he would go on to play defending champion Rafael Nadal in the 2006 final.
The Spaniard proved to be strong in Paris, with Nadal beating Federer in a four set final at Roland Garros that year.

Federer would eventually win his only Roland Garros title in 2009, and would end his career with 20 major final victories and 11 runner-up finishes.
