The dust has settled on the men’s French Open final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, but it has gone down in tennis history.
Iga Swiatek congratulated Alcaraz on his French Open title victory, after the Spaniard beat Sinner in a thrilling final.
The ATP stars played out an unforgettable final on Court Philippe-Chatrier, with their match taking five hours and 29 minutes.
Alcaraz eventually triumphed 4-6, 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 7-6(7-3), 7-6(10-2), having saved three championship points.
The future of tennis is in safe hands thanks to the duo, who have now combined to win each of the last six Grand Slam titles.

John Isner changes ‘tune’ over French Open final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Sinner won the Australian Open earlier this year, with Alcaraz following suit by successfully defending his French Open title.
Now some time after, the classic encounter has left a real mark on former player John Isner, who said on the Nothing Major Show: “We did the show after the final and I’ve had a few days to digest it.

“I said it was a top five match of all time. I am changing my tune. I think it’s a top three match of all time. I don’t think we were over exaggerating anything.”
Jack Sock makes ‘ridiculous’ Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz French Open final claim
Alcaraz and Sinner had previously played out many classic matches before meeting in the final at Roland Garros.
But they took their exciting rivalry to a whole new level in Paris, with the fans on Court Philippe-Chatrier treated to one of the best matches of all time.
It involved almost five-and-a-half hours of thrilling action, with the only negative being that it had to come to an end at some point.
They have perfectly taken over the mantle from the likes of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who played out similar matches for several years.
But now is very much the time of Sinner and Alcaraz, who look certain to meet in many more Grand Slam finals, having just played out their first together in France.
Sharing his verdict on the clash, former professional Jack Sock said: “I think when I was watching it I put in the group chat it honestly felt scripted. I think when people say that about a sporting event it’s almost like too unbelievable what is going on.

“The fact you can get one guy in Jannik being two sets to love up and then having match points and then it obviously fully changed and Alcaraz coming back and winning. It felt like a simulation. It felt scripted.
