Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz could go head-to-head one final time this year at the ATP Finals in Turin.
Sinner and Alcaraz have dominated the ATP Tour this year, and have shared all of the last eight Grand Slam titles.
The two players are seen as the ones to beat in men’s tennis right now, with even Novak Djokovic commenting on Sinner and Alcaraz’s dominance.
Sinner dethroned Alcaraz as world number one last week, and he has now spoken about his relationship with his biggest rival ahead of the ATP Finals.
Jannik Sinner states what has changed about his relationship with Carlos Alcaraz this year
While Sinner and Alcaraz are challenging each other for the biggest titles in tennis, they always appear to have a good relationship with one another.
This has included Sinner and Alcaraz even training together ahead of the ATP Finals, and the former has now been asked about what their relationship is like after this year.
When speaking to Russian outlet Tennis Bolshoi, Sinner explained how his relationship with Alcaraz has changed in 2025.
“Yeah, I mean it has evolved in the basis of success for both players, but in another way we do understand each other really well off the court and that hasn’t really changed,” answered Alcaraz. “We just know each other better, which is normal, it’s something natural.
“You know, growing up you see him a bit more in the locker room, on the practice courts, sometimes you practice together and you talk about different stuff, not only about tennis and you get to know him better, and I think it’s great, it’s nice, obviously we both know what’s on the line in every tournament.
“Especially here, the last tournament we play, but yeah whenever we shake hands the match is over and it’s all good.”
How has Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz’s Head-to-Head changed in 2025?
While their relationship is very much the same, there has been a big development in the matches Sinner and Alcaraz have played in 2025.
Despite both winning multiple Grand Slam titles before this year, Sinner and Alcaraz had never played each other in a major final before 2025.
However, that has completely changed this year, with Sinner and Alcaraz playing one another in the past three Grand Slam finals.
Their first ever Grand Slam final was a classic, with Alcaraz beating Sinner in the Roland Garros final after saving three championship points in a five set epic.

Alcaraz is one of three active players who leads the head-to-head against Sinner, which has only been exaggerated in 2025.
The only match that he has lost to his rival this year came back in July, when Sinner beat Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final.
If they are to play one more time this year, Alcaraz will need to qualify from his round-robin group at the ATP Finals, something he was unable to do this year.
Alcaraz also has the pressure of trying to reclaim his world number one ranking from Sinner, something that is in his hands to do at the ATP Finals.
