Iga Swiatek is a woman on a mission at Indian Wells, with the two-time champion storming into the last 16.
Swiatek had the most 6-0 or 6-1 set wins heading into Indian Wells 2025, and she has continued that trend in California.
WTA number two Swiatek beat Caroline Garcia 6-2, 6-0 in the second round, before overcoming Dayana Yastremska 6-0, 6-2 in the third round.
The Pole, who is the second seed at the WTA 1000 tournament, now takes on 15th seed Karolina Muchova.
Swiatek won the title at Indian Wells in both 2022 and 2024, defeating Greek ace Maria Sakkari on both occasions.

Iga Swiatek doesn’t judge Andy Murray after he was late for a practice session
She is certainly in high spirits on the court, with that attitude also emerging off it, with Swiatek having been one of a handful of WTA stars asked who they would bet on being late to practice.
“Me,” she replied. “I’m usually late everywhere, which is not a good thing to say, but that’s the truth, let’s be honest.”
She then added: “I would say Andy Murray. I mean he’s retired now, but once I went to see his practice and he was late like 15 minutes. But I don’t judge you know, he’s a boss, he’s a legend, he can do whatever he wants.”
Jessica Pegula jokes fellow American Emma Navarro is ‘late to everything’
Swiatek’s fellow WTA players Paula Badosa, Mirra Andreeva and Jessica Pegula were also tasked with sharing their verdicts.
Badosa was forced to withdraw from Indian Wells due to a back injury, but like Swiatek, both Andreeva and Pegula are into the round of 16.

Giving her take on the matter of players being late, Badosa said: “I would bet on Ons Jabeur. You know why?
“Because she stops to talk to everyone, and to hug everyone, because she’s so nice, that I’m like okay forget it, she’s always going to be behind me and always late.”
Andreeva meanwhile dropped her fellow Russian into it, saying: “Daria Kasatkina. Because she was late to our practice here on the first day, so I just hope that she’s going to be late one more time.”
And Pegula did likewise, noting: “I would bet Emma Navarro. Because I definitely see her late all the time, and she’s late to everything.”
