Jannik Sinner has finished another very successful season on a high after winning the ATP Finals.

Sinner beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the ATP Finals for the second consecutive season, extending his unbeaten streak on indoor hard courts to 31 matches.

This is just the second time the Italian has beaten Alcaraz this year, with Sinner making big improvements to his serve in particular after losing in the US Open final.

Sinner was able to surprise Alcaraz as a result, but a former WTA title winner believes that he can do even more to better himself.

Nicole Pratt tells Jannik Sinner what he is not utilising as much

Sinner has won Wimbledon and the Australian Open among his six titles won in 2025, but former Grand Slam doubles semifinalist Nicole Pratt believes that he should be coming to the net more during points.

When speaking on the Australian Open podcast, Pratt went on to suggest that Sinner has what it takes to be considered one of the greatest of all time, drawing comparisons to Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

How many Grand Slam titles will Jannik Sinner win in 2026?

“What is so exciting about Sinner is that I still feel he has an untouched part of the court, which he is not utilising as much as he could, which is the transition and moving forward,” said Pratt.

“There is no question from the serving perspective now, where he has done the work on that and fine tuned that with Darren Cahill, off the ground there’s not another player who hits the ball as well as him. He has improved his movement.

“For me it’s the forecourt, if he starts to transition a little bit more and build his skills, because players are going to keep asking the question.

“But the fact that he still has growth within his game and he has already achieved what he has achieved, if he can stay healthy enough like Federer and Djokovic did, then he is on a pathway to potentially be up there with the GOATS.”

There are currently question marks over whether Jannik Sinner will continue working with Darren Cahill next year, but the Australian would be able to help him in this area.

Cahill has already helped Sinner make big improvements during his time coaching the world number two, and as a former Grand Slam doubles finalist will be a perfect fit to help him develop his game even further.

Jannik Sinner’s record at the net during the ATP Finals

Sinner approached the net to varying degrees of both quantity and success throughout the ATP Finals this year.

The match where he played the most points at the net in Turin this year was against Ben Shelton, where he approached the net 19 times.

Sinner won 68% of his net points against Shelton, but his most successful net game was against Alexander Zverev where he only lost one of his 12 points at the net.

Both Sinner and Alcaraz have made a conscious effort to make incremental improvements throughout the 2025 season to be able to compete with one another.

This has included Sinner adding more variety and improving his serving, and it will be intriguing to see if he decides to come to the net more in 2026.
