Emma Raducanu knows what it feels like to be thrust into the spotlight like Mirra Andreeva is currently experiencing following her recent success.
Andreeva beat Aryna Sabalenka to win the biggest title of her career at Indian Wells, extending her winning streak to 12 matches following her victory at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
As a result, the 17-year-old has climbed to a career-high rainking, with Andreeva also ahead of Iga Swiatek in the race to the WTA Finals.
Despite being on a high in terms of results, Andreeva has been criticized for something she did during the Indian Wells final.
With her profile rising, Andreeva will be more under the microscope of people’s opinions, something that Raducanu has had to get used to since winning the US Open in 2021.

Emma Raducanu says if she has any advice for Mirra Andreeva
Raducanu won the US Open in 2021 as an 18-year-old, making history as the only qualifier in history to win a Grand Slam title.
While Andreeva first arrived on the WTA Tour as a 15-year-old, with her breakthrough run coming at the 2023 Madrid Open.
With their being some parallels between their careers, Raducanu has been asked about Andreeva.
After winning her opening match at the Miami Open, Raducanu spoke in the mixed zone about Andreeva and admitted that the Russian is already doing something that she was unable to.
“I don’t have any advice to give to her,” said Raducanu. “She is doing amazing and it’s nice to see her doing well and maintaining her level. That’s something I didn’t necessarily do, so to see her doing that and winning is great to see.”
How has Emma Raducanu performed since winning the US Open?
It has been a tough time for Raducanu since winning the US Open, with injuries playing a major part in her drop in form.
There have been some good signs for Raducanu, who made a Wimbledon run last year and climbed nearly 250 places in the WTA rankings after undergoing surgeries to both wrists and her left ankle.
However, Raducanu has been unable to add to her trophy cabinet just yet, with her best results coming in Seoul and Nottingham where she reached the semi-finals.
Andreeva’s first WTA title came on a much smaller scale to Raducanu’s at the 250 level tournament in Iasi, Romania, in July last year.
Since then, Andreeva has only lost nine of her 40 matches, and is at currently at her best WTA ranking of world number six.
Highlights for the teenager since then for Andreeva include winning titles in Dubai and Indian Wells.
