Carlos Alcaraz has enjoyed many great moments this year including winning two Grand Slam titles.
Alcaraz has won the French Open and the US Open this year, making him now a six-time Grand Slam singles champion.
Despite this, the Spaniard faced a recent setback, with Alcaraz losing to Cameron Norrie in his only match at the Paris Masters this year.
This meant that Alcaraz lost the world number one ranking to Jannik Sinner, and he has now reflected on his season ahead of the ATP Finals.

Carlos Alcaraz responds when asked what he is most proud of this year
Alcaraz has won more titles than any other player this year, and as a result was the first player to qualify for the ATP Finals, even ahead of Sinner.
However, Alcaraz has not always been such a dominant force in 2025, and when speaking to Tennis Bolshoi he was asked about what he is most proud of from this season.
While many would suspect that he would choose winning two Grand Slam titles, Alcaraz actually spoke about how he bounced back from his relatively slow start to the season.
Alcaraz lost to David Goffin at the Miami Open earlier this year, but he has only lost four of his 56 matches since then.
“Everyone is saying about my titles, about my victories, about my success that I had, but I would say that I am proud of the way that I came back from the tough moments,” answered Alcaraz.
“You know, I didn’t start the year well. I didn’t feel as good as I wanted, because I did a really good pre-season, and when I lost in Miami, I was deep to be honest.
“So the way that I came back from that moment and after that I started to win a lot, I started to feel really comfortable and happy again, feeling such joy on the court again. I think that was my biggest win so far this year, which I am really proud about this year.”
Alcaraz has only lost eight matches all year, and half of those came in the first three months of the year.
This is showcased in the number of titles Alcaraz has won, having won seven titles in the past seven months.
| Carlos Alcaraz’s 2025 season | Alcaraz before and including the Miami Open | Alcaraz after the Miami Open |

Alcaraz’s defeat to Goffin was the lowest-ranked defeat of his entire season, with the Belgian the world number 55 at the time.
All eight of Alcaraz’s defeats this year have come against different players, including losses to Novak Djokovic, Jack Draper and the aforementioned Sinner.
Sinner beat Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, which is actually the only Grand Slam final he has ever lost in his career.

While he will be one of the favourites for the title, Alcaraz will need to improve his indoor hard court record if he is to do so.
Alcaraz will likely be feeling confident ahead of his first round-robin match against Alex de Minaur, who he has beaten in all four of their previous meetings.
