Daniil Medvedev will be hoping for a better season in 2026 after a relatively disappointing season.
Medvedev won just one Grand Slam match in 2025, beating a player ranked outside the top 400 at the Australian Open.
After losing in the first round of the US Open, Medvedev split from his long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Following this decision being made, Medvedev won his first title in 29 months and now Andy Roddick has predicted what is going to happen to him next year.

Andy Roddick makes ranking prediction for Daniil Medvedev in 2026
Medvedev fell to his lowest ranking in six years back in September, and was even on the brink of falling outside the top 20.
However, the 29-year-old was able to end the 2025 season as the world number 13, after showing some signs of his previous form in the latter stages of the year.
After Medvedev confirmed he would continue working with Thomas Johansson, the aforementioned Roddick has predicted the former US Open champion to return to the top 10 of the ATP rankings in 2026.
“I think he’s in the top 10,” Roddick said on his podcast. “When you said he won one match at a major. I’m going man he still finished 13, and he won one match at a major…One match at a major, 13, that might be the highest ranking vs Slam output offset.
“And it’s not like the guy can’t play in Slams, he’s won one, he’s been in the finals of three or four more. I think Meddy’s back in the top 10 next year, I feel very confident after hearing your Slam statistic.”
Who is your favorite ATP player right now?
How do Daniil Medvedev’s ranking points compare to players around him?
Medvedev is currently only 230 ranking points away from the top 10 in the ATP rankings, with Jack Draper sitting in 10th spot.
This will likely be motivational for Medvedev, as he has less ranking points to defend than both Draper and Casper Ruud up to and including the French Open.
Who will win the 2026 Australian Open?
The only player above Medvedev who has less ranking points to defend up to this point is Alexander Bublik.
| Ranking point total | Points defending up to the Australian Open | Points defending up to the French Open | |
| 10. Jack Draper | 2,990 | 200 | 2,690 |
| 11. Alexander Bublik | 2,870 | 10 | 945 |
| 12. Casper Ruud | 2,835 | 135 | 2,075 |
| 13. Daniil Medvedev | 2,760 | 50 | 1,220 |
Medvedev will look to make a positive start to his 2026 season at the Brisbane International, where he reached the final in 2019.
The Russian will then head to Melbourne for the Australian Open, as he looks to end his four-match losing streak at Grand Slams.
