Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe have not always seen eye to eye on court.
Sinner made tennis history after winning Indian Wells, and he is looking to join an exclusive group of players to complete the Sunshine Double at the Miami Open this year.
The Italian has been flawless at the tournament so far this year, and after Sinner beat Alex Michelsen 7-5, 7-6(4), he reached his fifth Miami Open quarterfinal.
This is where he will play the resurgent Tiafoe, who won his 251st ATP match against Terence Atmane, and confirmed that he will play a quarterfinal against Sinner.

Jannik Sinner called Frances Tiafoe disrespectful at the 2021 Vienna Open
Sinner and Tiafoe played the third match in their head-to-head in the 2021 Vienna Open semifinals.
At this point, a then 20-year-old Sinner was the world number 11 after a breakthrough season, while Tiafoe was the world number 49 and had come through qualifying to reach the semifinals.

Or do you think both Sabalenka and Sinner will win the Miami Open?
Sinner actually led Tiafoe 6-3, 5-3 in this match and looked well on his way to reaching another ATP final.
However, drama began to unfold when Tiafoe could be heard shouting when Sinner was bouncing the ball in a game where he was serving for the match.
It is unclear as to whether this was a deliberate tactic, but Tiafoe would go on to win 10 of the next 12 games to beat Sinner 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Sinner was clearly not happy about Tiafoe’s actions, and after the match he called him out for being disrespectful.
“In my opinion, today Tiafoe went too far, has done too much,” Sinner said at the time.
“It is one thing when the player tries to put on a show to put on a bit of a show, but it is quite another when you start to disrespect.”

Their most recent meeting was the most high-profile of the five, with Sinner beating Tiafoe in the final of the Cincinnati Open.
