Mirra Andreeva and Victoria Mboko are not the only two rising talents on the WTA Tour.
Andreeva has won Indian Wells and the Dubai Tennis Championships in 2025, enabling her to break inside the top five in the WTA rankings.
The world number five is not the only player to win a WTA 1000 title, with Mboko triumphing at the Canadian Open in a shock run.
American teenager Iva Jovic has also made history this year, but there is actually someone else who is going under the radar.

More people should be talking about Australian teenager Maya Joint
The other teenager who should be creating more conversation is Australian Maya Joint, who is just 19 years old.
Joint began the season as the world number 118 and had not won a main draw match on the WTA Tour before this year, but she has made huge strides in 2025 and is now at a career-high rank of world number 36.
Consistent results have played a big part in her rise up the ranks, as well as Joint winning two WTA 250 titles, one on the clay of Rabat, the other on the grass in Eastbourne.

Joint appears to be an all-court player, as she has also produced some impressive results on hard courts, including reaching the semifinals of both the Korea Open and the Hobart International.
The one thing that appears to be holding Joint back at the moment is her Grand Slam results, as she has only won one match at a major tournament in 2025.
Three of those four defeats have come against top 20 ranked players, suggesting that Joint would really benefit from being seeded at the next Grand Slam tournament.
| Grand Slam | Maya Joint’s Result |
| Australian Open | Lost in the first round to Jessica Pegula (7) |
| Roland Garros | Lost in the first round to Ajla Tomljanovic |
| Wimbledon | Lost in the first round to Liudmila Samsonova (19) |
| US Open | Lost in the second round to Amanda Anisimova (8) |
Maya Joint has a chance to make a breakthrough run at the China Open
Joint is currently in a good position to be seeded at the next major tournament, which is her home Grand Slam of the Australian Open.
She is currently 32nd in the live race to the WTA Finals, and Joint now has an opportunity to make a breakthrough run in her China Open debut.
After beating 17th seed Diana Shnaider, Joint is now in a more open section of the draw in the WTA 1000 event in Beijing.
Next up for Joint is world number 81 Sonay Kartal, who has just knocked out her new Australian teammate Daria Kasatkina.
If Joint beats Kartal then she will reach the fourth round of a WTA 1000 event for the first time, where she could play fourth seed Mirra Andreeva.
Not only is Joint currently on track to be seeded at the next major tournament, but she is also forecasted to overtake the aforementioned Kasatkina as the Australian number one by the end of the year.
