Another thrilling WTA Tour season has wrapped up, with many players already looking ahead to 2025.

Fans are shocked Coco Gauff has returned to training, with the 20-year-old recently winning the WTA Finals title.

Aryna Sabalenka ended the year as number one, having emerged victorious from her lengthy battle with Iga Swiatek.

Swiatek dominated the season for some time, with the Pole clinching five titles before falling away towards the end.

Sabalenka and Swiatek stole many of the headlines on the WTA Tour in 2024, with the former winning two Grand Slam titles.

Jasmine Paolini deserves title as most improved WTA player in 2024

She lifted the Australian Open and US Open trophies to assert her hard-court dominance, with Swiatek winning the French Open and Barbora Krejcikova winning Wimbledon.

Narrowly missing out on the latter two trophies was Jasmine Paolini, who undoubtedly improved the most throughout the WTA Tour in 2024.

Jasmine Paolini guides Italy to Billie Jean King Cup title

Paolini deserves huge credit for her phenomenal season, which ended with a 41-20 win-loss record and a career-high ranking of fourth, the highest an Italian has ever reached in the list.

The 28-year-old also secured a debut WTA Finals appearance, featuring in both singles and doubles in Riyadh.

And those efforts continued in Malaga at the Billie Jean King Cup, where Paolini starred as Italy won their fifth title.

Balancing women’s singles and doubles is no small feat, but the Italian managed it expertly, making the French Open final alongside close friend Sara Errani.

The duo were eventually overcome by Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova, but bounced back later in the year to emerge victorious at the Billie Jean King Cup.

Paolini can hold her head highly after the conclusion of the season, with the Italian currently enjoying her holidays, but she should have real ambitions to go one step further in 2025 and lift a Grand Slam trophy.
