Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz once again proved why they are clearly the top two players on the planet right now after the conclusion of the ATP Finals.

Sinner beat Alcaraz in the final of the ATP Finals, winning their latest clash 7-6(7-4), 7-5 as their stunning rivalry continued.

The superstar duo have now met 16 times on the ATP Tour, with Alcaraz boasting 10 wins compared to the six of Sinner.

Combined, they’ve claimed a huge 14 titles in the 2025 season, with the Spaniard again leading the way in that regard with eight.

They did, however, share the spoils at Grand Slam level, as Alcaraz won the French Open and the US Open, while Sinner won the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Why Novak Djokovic is the ATP’s biggest winner in 2025 other than Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

It remains to be seen if such dominance can be continued into the 2026 season, but there is every chance that it will be given their current ability.

That could also be the case given the real lack of challengers to their dominance, although that honor can be awarded to Novak Djokovic for 2025.

The Serbian legend was arguably the biggest winner on the ATP Tour this season aside from Alcaraz and Sinner, which is simply remarkable given he turned 38 in May and had plenty of issues to deal with.

Djokovic isn’t the player he used to be, with the likes of fatigue and injuries now playing major roles at this stage of his career.

But he admirably put up a fight when he could, with his superb efforts this season including reaching the semifinals of all four Grand Slams.

He was knocked out by either Alcaraz or Sinner on three of those four occasions, but deserves huge praise for reaching that stage every time.

Djokovic essentially did what he wanted in 2025, as shown by his Grand Slam efforts, with the Serbian clearly prioritising one more title that would take him to a record tally of 25.

And while he fell short, he did manage to hugely impressively take his ATP titles total to 100 at the Geneva Open.

That figure was increased to 101 in Athens, with Djokovic definitely enjoying the best season other than the leading duo of Sinner and Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic set to surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal year-end feat

The legend again hasn’t been everyone’s favorite player on the ATP Tour, but he clearly doesn’t care what a lot of people think about him right now.

Djokovic withdrew from the ATP Finals at the last minute, which again simply proved that he can do what he wants with the schedule.

The calendar has come under heavy criticism in recent times for being too demanding, but the Serbian has been fortunate to be able to pick and choose his events.

And such an attitude cannot be questioned given all he has done for tennis over the years, while he certainly does put on a show when he does turn up.

He limited himself to 50 matches in 2025, from which he recorded 39 wins and 11 defeats, helping him finish the year at world number four.

The hugely impressive feat represents his 16th career top-four finish, which means he will overtake the 15 of both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Equally impressively, eight of his 16 such finishes have been at world number one, which again represents another all-time record.
