Iga Swiatek was among the favourites to go all the way at Wimbledon this year following her French Open win.
The Pole stormed to her fifth Grand Slam title at the age of just 23 with her success at Roland Garros last month.
Moreover, Swiatek led the way for earnings in 2024 with the win, which took her total prize money to $6.68million (£5.23million).
But the world number one has now crashed out of Wimbledon, suffering a third round exit to Yulia Putintseva.
The world number 35 pulled off a major shock at the All England Club, claiming a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win on the grass.

Iga Swiatek booed by Wimbledon crowd in third round loss
The Kazakh produced a superb comeback against the Pole, with Putintseva ending Swiatek’s stunning 21-match winning streak.
The latter certainly wasn’t at her best, but she was perhaps distracted after beeing booed by the Wimbledon crowd.

As shared by one user on X, Swiatek received a hostile reception on Court 1 after her latest bathroom break when losing a set.
Wimbledon glory a step too far for Iga Swiatek
Putintseva deserves all the credit for her fantastic victory, with the 29-year-old using all of her experience to pull off the upset.
She will have used the crowd support at Wimbledon to her advantage, but would have been filled with confidence anyway after winning the Birmingham Classic last month.
And while Swiatek is the in-form player in women’s tennis, the Pole cannot seem to get things right on grass.
She has won four of her five Grand Slam titles on the Roland Garros clay, with the other arriving on the hard courts of the US Open.
The top seed practised with men’s star Carlos Alcaraz in the build-up to Wimbledon, but has now suffered an early exit after hitting 34 unforced errors in her latest match.
