Carlos Alcaraz has continued to impress as Wimbledon approaches, having just clinched his 250th ATP Tour win.

Alcaraz is second to Jannik Sinner in the ATP rankings, but just beat the world number one in the French Open final.

Sinner wants to rest before Wimbledon after his shock exit from Halle, where he fell to Alexander Bublik in the round of 16.

Alcaraz meanwhile is into the final at Queen’s, with the Spanish top seed coming up against Jiri Lehecka in London.

The ATP number two defeated fellow Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-4, and in doing so clinched his 250th tour-level win.

The two American players who reached 250 ATP wins quicker than Alcaraz

Hugely impressively, the 22-year-old is third in the list of players to reach that milestone in the fewest matches, as per Tennis TV.

Alcaraz boasts a 250-61 win-loss record, and is behind only John McEnroe (250-57) and Jimmy Connors (250-60).

Immediately below the Spaniard is his compatriot Rafael Nadal and Boris Becker, with figures of 250-63 and 250-69 respectively.

The legendary figures continue in the form of Ivan Lendl and Mats Wilander, who both have a record of 250-71.

Alcaraz is rapidly emulating many legends of the game, and he doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.

Very worryingly for his fellow ATP players, he now finds himself on a 17-match winning streak, and just reached a fifth consecutive final.

Perhaps David Goffin is the man many players will jokingly point the finger of blame at, with the Belgian winning their opener at the Miami Open.

Since then, Alcaraz has made it all the way to the final in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome, Roland Garros and Queen’s.

Momentum is very much on his side, and while it is Sinner who tops the ATP rankings, it is Alcaraz who tops the ATP Live Race To Turin.

The rankings provide an indicator of the year-end world number one, an honour bestowed upon the Italian last time out.
