Carlos Alcaraz is taking on Queen’s ahead of Wimbledon, as he looks for a third successive title at the grass court Grand Slam.

Alcaraz has really impressed Taylor Fritz, with the former having just won his fifth Grand Slam title at the French Open.

WTA star Iga Swiatek congratulated Alcaraz on his success, which arrived via a thrilling five-set victory over Jannik Sinner.

Sinner has remained top of the ATP standings following their final, with fellow superstar Alcaraz just behind him in second place.

The Spaniard has, however, overtaken the Italian for total career titles won, boasting 20 compared to Sinner’s 19.

But he remains well behind the 92 that his compatriot Rafael Nadal achieved in his stunning career before retiring last year.

And Alcaraz has now been tasked with discussing the legendary figure, having been asked by GQ for the best piece of advice he has received from Nadal.

“That I don’t have to see tennis as an obligation,” replied Alcaraz. “That I really want to go for practice, that I really want to be better, not that I have to.”

What was the head-to-head record between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz?

Listening to anything the 22-time Grand Slam champion has to say is certainly worth it, with Nadal having enjoyed a simply phenomenal career.

It remains to be seen what is next for the Spaniard, who deserves to relax at this moment in time and appreciate everything he has achieved.

Alcaraz meanwhile is seemingly only getting started, which should be a real worry for every other player on the ATP Tour.

And that includes Sinner, who could once again be his main rival in another likely assault on Wimbledon this year.

Alcaraz has beaten another legend in Novak Djokovic in the last two Wimbledon finals, and is yet to lose a Grand Slam final.

The 22-year-old has played five and won five, and impressively boasts major titles on grass, clay and hard courts.

But that perhaps would have been a different story had Alcaraz met his fellow Spaniard Nadal in his prime.

The pair were unfortunately limited to just three meetings on the ATP Tour, two of which were won by the veteran.
