To the surprise of no one, Carlos Alcaraz will play Jannik Sinner in the 2025 US Open final.
In the first of the two semifinals, Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6, 6-2.
He was quickly joined in the final by the defending champion and world number one, Jannik Sinner, who advanced past Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The pair will contest their third consecutive Grand Slam final on Sunday, following Alcaraz’s win over Sinner at Roland Garros and Sinner’s win over Alcaraz at Wimbledon.
With the Spaniard and Italian extending their streak of dominance at major tournaments, one former British tennis star has sent a warning to their ATP Tour rivals.
Annabel Croft warns the rest of the ATP Tour to ‘catch up’ before it’s too late
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live after Alcaraz’s win over Djokovic, Annabel Croft commented on the gap between the world’s top two players and the rest of the field.
“One thing is for sure, these two are extending their lead to the rest of the pack,” she said.
“It’s for everyone else to try and catch up, but it becomes more and more difficult.
“With every Grand Slam that goes by, and the two of them are dominant, that gives them so much more weight of armour, and it’s difficult to penetrate that.”
Alcaraz and Sinner have shared the previous seven Grand Slam titles between themselves, dominating their ATP Tour rivals.

For fans of Alcaraz and Sinner, there’s nothing to complain about, as they, along with Croft, look forward to another installment of their thrilling rivalry.
“The rivalry that [Jannik] Sinner and Alcaraz are building is just very, very special, it’s already become very special in such a short space of time,” she said.
“The quality of the matches they’ve played, everybody is talking about that French Open as being one of the great finals we’ve ever seen.

“There was so much drama, so much emotion, it had everybody on tenterhooks, took us on a rollercoaster ride, and the fact that Sinner had match points then Alcaraz came back, oh my goodness, it was incredible.
“I think we’re going to get that again.
“I can honestly say that I really don’t know who is going to win. They bring out the best in each other; they are very contrasting in the way they play their tennis.
“Each one of them brings such quality in different ways to a tennis match. I think it’s going to be spectacular if we get that.”
It’s tough to predict who will emerge victorious when the pair face off, but you certainly won’t want to miss it.

The Spaniard has been excellent in New York, but was particularly impressive during his semifinal win over Djokovic.
“I’m admiring of how [Carlos] Alcaraz handled this match, matches are not easy, they are going to have their moments, it’s not always going to be perfect,” said Croft.
“But it‘s how you play those bigger moments, he was up against a great, great champion, who he has admired, put up on a pedestal. I think he’s quite chuffed with his performance.”
Hoping to produce one more great performance, Alcaraz will play Sinner in the 2025 US Open final on Sunday, September 7.
