Jannik Sinner is on the march once again after beating Terence Atmane at the China Open.
Atmane lost to Sinner in the semifinal of the Cincinnati Open earlier this year, and the two players served up another good match on Saturday.
Atmane withdrew from US Open qualifying through injury, but he was back in action for the Asian swing and set up another date with world number two Sinner.
Once again, Atmane gave a good account of himself, losing 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 to Sinner, with the Italian’s prowess proving too overpowering in the end.

Jannik Sinner receives message from Terence Atmane after beating him
At 23, Atmane is still really finding his feet on the ATP Tour, and he hopes to get more experience playing the likes of Sinner in the coming months.
The Frenchman always seems to give a good account of himself against the world number two and ultimately, he can once again take a lot of heart from their latest meeting.
After losing to Sinner, he received a heartwarming message from Atmane on Instagram, which read: “I gave everything I had today, but it wasn’t enough. Congratulations to Jannik Sinner for today’s performance, and thank you for showing me the path to the peak level of our sport. Thank you, everyone, for the support and see you all next year.”
Atmane has bigger challenges waiting for him
Next year will be a big one for Atmane as he looks to improve his current world ranking of number 68 in the world and also progress in the Grand Slam events.
Clearly, he’s not fazed by playing the big players, and he certainly gave Sinner a run for his money by taking a set away from him in their latest match.
Atmane has never won a match at a Grand Slam, and that will be the next milestone that he surely wants to tick off.
This message showcases that Atmane has his head screwed on, and the fact that he’s taking a lot from the likes of Sinner will surely serve him well in the future.
