Sebastian Korda names who he thinks is the most underrated player on the ATP Tour.
The 24-year-old is one of the brightest young talents in tennis who is still trying to take his game to the next level.
The American has had a solid season so far and is currently sitting just outside the world’s top 20 players.
As he continues to try and make his mark in the game, Korda took some time to answer some questions in a video posted to the ATP’s YouTube channel.
Who does Sebastian Korda think is the ATP’s most underrated player?
During Korda’s campaign at Queen’s in June, he was asked a series of questions including his opinion on the ATP’s most underrated player.
His answer was the Netherlands’ Tallon Griekspoor, who is a two-time title winner and is ranked number 27 in the world.
The 28-year-old reached the third round of the Australian Open and French Open Grand Slams for the first time in his career this year.
He showed the world just what he is capable of when he pushed Alexander Zverev to his limit in five pulsating sets at Roland Garros.
Griekspoor also holds the record for the most number of Challenger events won in a single season with eight, which he accomplished in 2021.
Is Sebastian Korda playing at the Paris Olympic Games?
Korda is not part of the USA tennis Olympic team that has travelled to Paris.
He joined Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe in skipping the Olympics to head back to the US hard courts and build up to the US Open. America’s team captain and former doubles player Bob Bryan says he understands their decision.
“I’m not shocked by any decisions by the players. Everyone’s got their personal journey and individual goals for the season,” Bryan told Tennis.com.
“And going from hard to clay to grass to clay to hard is challenging for anyone. If your goal is to peak at the US Open, it might not be the most ideal situation for you I understand where they are coming from.
“But for those guys that are going, I think they are going to have a wonderful time, there’s nothing like the Olympic energy.”
