Carlos Alcaraz has just continued his phenomenal season at Queen’s, winning the title right before Wimbledon.
Alcaraz was really proud of his improved serving in the Queen’s final, where he defeated Jiri Lehecka 7-5, 6-7(5-7), 6-2.
Lehecka congratulated Alcaraz on his Queen’s title, which represents his fifth ATP Tour success of the 2025 season so far.
Alcaraz will soon turn his focus to Wimbledon, where qualifying at the grass court Grand Slam is now underway.
The Wimbledon main draw starts later this month, with Alcaraz entering the tournament as the two-time defending champion.

And the Spaniard has now been the centre of a discussion from former professionals Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson and John Isner ahead of the Grand Slam.
Speaking on the Nothing Major Show, Querrey said: “Usually most players it takes them a bit of time to be good on grass, even the great grass courters.
“But I feel like in this day and age, the way he and [Jannik] Sinner play, most of the guys’ games translate on hard courts, grass courts, clay courts.
“Everyone kind of plays the same type of tennis so that does not really make a difference when you are going from surface to surface.
“If you hit the ball as hard as Alcaraz does on the forehand and backhand, he is talented at the net, he moves around well. It does not matter the surface, it is literally irrelevant.
“It is irrelevant as well, who is on the other side of the net with him right now. He is flying high in confidence. I will say that I lost a little confidence in him late last year.”
Quick to respond was Johnson, who said: “No, no, no. You don’t get to backtrack before we call you out!”
Querrey replied: “He lost a few matches early last year and I said maybe he could fall out of the top five,” with Johnson saying: “You said no way in the top five [by the end of the year]. No way in the top five!”
Isner then commented: “You said you were selling your Alcaraz stock!” as Querrey admitted: “I could not have been more dead wrong. He is on another level right now.
“He got five matches on the grass, he got a pretty easy draw, it does not make a difference for him as he’s going to beat everyone, but he is going to be feeling so good going into Wimbledon.”

Indeed, last November Querrey said Alcaraz could end 2025 at five in the world, with that prediction looking like a very poor one right now.
The Spaniard is behind only Sinner in the ATP rankings, but actually leads the way in the Race to Turin rankings.

It was the Italian who topped the year-end rankings for 2024, with Alcaraz finishing in third, also behind Alexander Zverev.
But if his stunning season continues on its current trajectory, a very different story is set to play out this time around.
