Jannik Sinner has continued his stunning season at Wimbledon, where he has just secured his fourth Grand Slam title.

Iga Swiatek has congratulated Sinner on his success, with the Pole having won the WTA event at the All England Club.

Sinner followed in Swiatek’s footsteps on Centre Court, gaining his revenge over fellow ATP star Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon.

The pair had only just met in the final of the French Open, in which the Spaniard inflicted a heartbreaking loss on the Italian.

But the tables were turned at Wimbledon, with Sinner enjoying a “great match” against Alcaraz, which he won 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Rennae Stubbs disagrees with common Jannik Sinner opinion after his Wimbledon win

The match has now been discussed by former player Rennae Stubbs, who was asked if she agreed with the “generally true” analysis that read: “Carlos Alcaraz’s highest level is higher than Jannik’s, but his lowest level is way lower”.

Sharing her thoughts on the widely held opinion that both Andy Roddick and Tim Henman have suggested in the past, she said on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast: “I agree to a certain extent that Alcaraz’s low is definitely lower than Jannik’s, there is no question about that.

“I would disagree that the highs are not as high as Alcaraz’s, because I think Jannik when he hits the ball big, his ability to crush the ball and hit into corners is incredible.

“Does he have the flair of Alcaraz? No. But you can’t really say that that top level isn’t as good as Alcaraz’s.

“I think for me if Jannik is at his A+ he can beat Carlos at his A+. There is no question. Particularly on a court like today which was a bit bouncier and a bit flatter and he served better.

“That is what it came down to. Even the game when he held to go up 5-3 in the fourth set and he was down 15-40 he went huge on the second serve to the forehand serve, 130mph out wide and it really caught Carlos off and the same thing in the next one.

“So he was more aggressive on the second serve and he was willing to take the chances that he maybe didn’t take at the French.”

Former world number one Roddick named Alcaraz the “clear favourite” for the Wimbledon final, but the American was ultimately proven wrong by Sinner at SW19.

It was, however, very tricky to call, although the Spanish ace did enter the tournament as the two-time defending champion.

Sinner notably held and lost three championship points in his Roland Garros tie with Alcaraz last month, which the latter won after almost five-and-a-half hours.

He reduced that match time to just over three hours at the All England Club, having seemingly learned from his mistakes in Paris.

The Italian now continues his superb spell at the top of the ATP Tour rankings, with Alcaraz remaining in second.

He is, however, behind the Spaniard in terms of titles this season and in their careers so far, but those tallies are likely to endure many twists and turns in the coming years.
