Paula Badosa has endured a frustrating time of late, with her Sunshine Double venture disrupted by injury.
Badosa withdrew from the Eisenhower Cup on the eve of Indian Wells, before withdrawing from the WTA 1000 event.
The Spanish star was meant to take on American Caroline Dolehide, but was forced out of competing with a back injury.
Badosa did manage to take on the Miami Open, with the WTA number 11 knocking out Victoria Mboko and Clara Tauson.
But the back injury came back to frustrate Badosa in the last 16, where she was forced to retire before her meeting with Alexandra Eala.

Paula Badosa loves watching Carlos Alcaraz and Ons Jabeur
The Spaniard has, however, remained in high spirits despite the issue, with Badosa having just taken on a Q&A on X.
There, she was asked for her favourite ATP and WTA players she likes to watch, apart from her partner Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Responding to the question, the 27-year-old said: “Ons [Jabeur] & Carlitos [Alcaraz]. So much fun to watch!”
Paula Badosa names her favourite WTA tournament outside the Grand Slams
Badosa could play mixed doubles with Tsitsipas at the US Open, but she will be eager to enjoy plenty of singles success before then.
The duo have been impressing in 2025 so far, with the former reaching the Australian Open semi-finals and the latter winning the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Badosa will have been hugely upset heading into the Miami Open after missing Indian Wells, having named it as her favourite tournament outside the Grand Slams in another question from a fan.
Given her injury issue, however, Badosa likely checked in on her favourite duo Jabeur and Alcaraz at the Miami Open, along with Tsitsipas.
But the Tunisian and Greek stars both won just once at the event before falling in the third round, while the Spaniard suffered a shock second round defeat to David Goffin.
