Aryna Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur will both be planning big 2025 seasons, having endured varying degrees of success in 2024.

Sabalenka finished 2024 as world number one after winning four titles, including the Australian Open and US Open.

Conversely, Jabeur ended her 2024 season early, with the Tunisian having been hampered by a shoulder injury.

But both WTA stars returned for the 2025 season at the same tournament, having played at the Brisbane International in Australia.

Again, they had different outcomes, with Jabeur falling in the quarter-finals as Sabalenka lifted the trophy.

Both Emma Navarro and Paula Badosa meanwhile went for her doubles partner Shnaider, who currently occupies 13th place.

Andreeva should head into the Australian Open full of confidence, with the Russian teenager having really impressed a couple of her fellow professionals.

She reached her career-high ranking of 16th in 2024, and is the only teenager currently in the WTA top 100.

Shnaider meanwhile, who is 20, won a hugely impressive four titles last time out, with both players now set to take on the Adelaide International.

The WTA 500 event gets underway this week, quickly followed by the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season.
