Iga Swiatek has just eased her way to yet another Roland Garros win, with the Pole emerging victorious in Paris.
Having brushed aside all those in her path to the final of the French Open, Italian Jasmine Paolini stood in her way of a third successive title.
But the latter, like everyone before her, was helpless on the clay thanks to Swiatek’s dominance from the very start.
The world number one clinched her fourth title at Roland Garros and her fifth Grand Slam with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
The success has unsurprisingly been widely praised, with seven-time French Open winner Chris Evert now predicting Swiatek to overtake her at the top of the leaderboard.

Novak Djokovic sends message to Iga Swiatek
Remarkably, the Pole almost exited the competition in the second round, having been forced to save a match point against Naomi Osaka.
The comeback win stunned tennis fans everywhere, with many comparing her to the King of Clay Rafael Nadal.
The Spaniard suffered an early defeat in Paris, with his fellow star Novak Djokovic also not making it as far as he would have liked.
The Serb did, however, clearly keep an eye on matters on the court following his exit, with Djokovic congratulating Swiatek following her win.
Taking to social media to celebrate, Swiatek posted on Instagram: “It doesn’t get more challenging than this.
“To stay disciplined for so many weeks, to focus on the right things, be here and now. But at the same time to enjoy life, to be happy, content.
“I’m so proud and grateful for my team, family, all the support – you have no idea. But yeah… I want to say it out loud. This.was.something.else. Merci Paris. Je T’aime.”
The well-wishes soon followed, with three-time men’s French Open winner Djokovic commenting: “Congratulations, Iga!”
Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic have very different French Open experiences
Swiatek now has four French Open titles to her name, having lifted the trophy in 2020, 2022, 2023 and now 2024.
Her latest win means she now has one more than Djokovic in the men’s game, with injury denying the Serb another chance of success.
Having played back-to-back five-set matches in the third and fourth rounds, the 37-year-old was forced to withdraw because of a knee injury.
It remains to be seen exactly how long he will be sidelined for, with tennis fans surely hoping for a swift recovery ahead of a key period in the calendar.
Wimbledon is now rapidly approaching, as is the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Olympic gold eluding Djokovic in his glittering career.
