Novak Djokovic is winding down after another busy season on the ATP Tour, which was dominated by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Djokovic really impressed in 2025, but Sinner and Alcaraz were a level above the rest of the players on the court.
Alcaraz is the year-end number one after securing eight ATP titles, closely followed by Sinner in second with six.
Is another Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner final good for men’s tennis?
It was, however, Sinner who won the last tournament of the season, defeating the Spaniard in the final of the ATP Finals.
Djokovic qualified for the ATP Finals but withdrew, with the Serbian now giving his take on the battle between the Spanish and Italian superstars.

Novak Djokovic gives his opinion on Jannik Sinner’s latest match with Carlos Alcaraz
Legendary figure Djokovic, who just appeared in Bologna for the start of the Davis Cup, told Eurosport Italia in Italian: “I don’t like to watch because I want to be there.
“I didn’t watch the whole match but I watched the first set because now, as always, it’s a tradition when they play, the first set is 7-6 in one way or another. But with a lot of attention, a lot of intensity and an astronomical level. Honestly very good.
“I watch with pleasure because really the level is very high and the rivalry of the two is a very positive thing for our sport, so they are fantastic. Also Jannik, what he’s done – particularly indoors – in the last two years, very historic.”
Jannik Sinner’s head-to-head record with Carlos Alcaraz after the ATP Finals
It was indeed another very exciting battle between leading duo Alcaraz and Sinner, which the latter won 7-6(7-4), 7-5.
He was, of course, boosted by his home supporters in Torino, where he previously knocked out Alex de Minaur in the semifinals.
Sinner hugely impressively didn’t drop a single set throughout the entire event, also beating Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton.
Top seed Alcaraz then stood between the home favourite and the trophy, but Sinner won to improve his head-to-head record with his main rival to 6-10.
Six of those 16 matches were played in 2025 alone, with Alcaraz claiming four wins, including the finals of the French Open and the US Open.
