Felix Auger-Aliassime enjoyed a superb end to the year, reaching the semifinals of the ATP Finals for the first time in his career.

Auger-Aliassime was praised by Carlos Alcaraz despite losing to the Spaniard, and he will take a lot of heart from the second half of 2025.

The Canadian player reached the semifinal of the US Open back in September, beating Alexander Zverev along the way, before enjoying solid Asian and indoor swings to qualify for the ATP Finals.

Auger-Aliassime claimed a large number of wins in 2025, and after his very decent end to the campaign, he will now look forward to next year getting underway in January.

New ATP rankings announced as Felix Auger-Aliassime gets new ranking

It’s been a meteoric rise for Auger-Aliassime and his performances in the second half of the year have seen him finish 2025 in the top five of the world rankings.

That represents quite the rise, and he will now be looking to consolidate that position and even push into the top four of the ATP world rankings.

The fall guy to Auger-Aliassime’s successful season has been Ben Shelton, who has struggled with an injury and subsequently gave a weak account of himself at the ATP Finals.

The rankings look pretty healthy at the top, with Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner clearly the two dominant forces, with Zverev and Novak Djokovic just behind them.

Auger-Aliassime is now showcasing that he can mix it with the top players and the challenge for him in 2026 will be to make more waves in Grand Slam tournaments and qualify once again for the ATP Finals.

The four players who have left the top 10 in 2025

It’s quite remarkable to see the rankings in their current state really, given that a number of players in the top 10 have either been injured or not had great seasons.

Zverev reached the final at the Australian Open but has then been largely underwhelming, whilst Djokovic has maintained a top-four position for most of the campaign despite picking and choosing when to play.

Draper has stayed in the top 10 despite choosing to end his year in September, and that means four players have dropped out of the list from last year.

Although Alcaraz and Sinner are seemingly tossing trophies around between them, it does feel as though the competitive edge is returning to tennis and it will be fascinating to see if the four players who left the top 10 this year can return in 2026.
