Nick Kyrgios is well and truly back after a lengthy injury lay-off, having undergone wrist surgery in September 2023.

Kyrgios has had to manage his wrist following the Brisbane International, where he played singles and doubles.

He suffered a first round exit in the former and a second round exit in the latter, having played alongside former rival Novak Djokovic.

Kyrgios has been handed a reality check after the Brisbane International, with the Australian having previously last played competitively at the 2023 Stuttgart Open.

But Kyrgios now has one ATP Tour event under his belt, having also played in the World Tennis League upon returning from injury.

What Nick Kyrgios thinks of Mexican fans ahead of UTS Guadalajara

The seven-time ATP champion featured heavily at the exhibition event in Abu Dhabi, with another exhibition tournament on his calendar now approaching.

Kyrgios will play at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) in Guadalajara, Mexico, which takes place in mid-February.

And he has already got followers of the tournament excited, having been asked on an Instagram story Q&A what he expects from Mexico, with Kyrgios replying: “The crazy fans”.

Who is joining Nick Kyrgios at UTS Guadalajara?

Kyrgios should feel somewhat at home in Guadalajara given that his compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis will also be there.

The duo are reuniting for doubles at the Australian Open, having won the competition in 2022 against fellow Australians Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell.

They are among the eight players set to take part, with Casper Ruud, Denis Shapovalov and Flavio Cobolli also confirmed at this stage.

The Panamerican Tennis Center welcomes the UTS Tour to Latin America for the first time, with the event representing the first in the 2025 UTS Tour.

Founded by Patrick Mouratoglou, the tournament involves the eight players being split into two groups of four.

British star Jack Draper won UTS 2023, with Australian ace Alex de Minaur emerging victorious at UTS 2024.
