Nick Kyrgios often gives his verdict on other players on the ATP Tour in 2025.

Kyrgios has won only one match in 2025, but has not competed since the Miami Open due to continued injury struggles.

The Australian was scheduled to return for the grass court season, but Kyrgios has since withdrawn from Wimbledon after suffering a setback.

Despite his inactivity, Kyrgios has been keeping an eye on current goings-on and has now commented on French Open semi-finalist Lorenzo Musetti.

Lorenzo Musetti gives his honest opinion on Nick Kyrgios

Musetti was involved in a controversial moment in his quarter-final match against Frances Tiafoe, but has now progressed to the last four of the French Open for the first time.

This has continued an impressive clay court season for the 23-year-old, with Musetti also reaching the Monte Carlo Masters final, as well as the semi-finals in Madrid and Rome.

When responding to questions on an Instagram live video, Kyrgios was asked about the next ‘big three’ to follow Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Despite being critical of the world number one, Kyrgios named Jannik Sinner, alongside Carlos Alcaraz, before adding Musetti to the mix.

Kyrgios was full of praise for Musetti and claimed that the Italian is one of his favourite players to watch at the moment.

“Obviously Sinner and Alcaraz are already there,” said Kyrgios. “Do you know who I have been really surprised with? It’s Musetti. Musetti has been really solid for the last year and a half, he has really impressed me.

“He is good on hard, clay, grass. He is fun to watch. Musetti is probably one of my favourite players right now to watch aesthetically. He has a beautiful slice. It’s fun to watch the way he crafts, he works for his points. I like watching him a lot.”

Lorenzo Musetti vs Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner

Musetti has made a major breakthrough during this clay court season, enabling him to break into the top 10 for the first time in his career.

After reaching the semi-finals of the French Open for the first time in his career, Musetti is already confirmed to reach a career-high of world number six for the first time in his career and could continue rising.

However, Musetti has only won two ATP titles and has not lifted a title since the Tennis Napoli Cup in October 2022.

Musetti will look to change that at the French Open, where he will play the aforementioned Alcaraz in the semi-finals.

While Musetti has beaten Alcaraz in a clay court final before, he has lost his last five matches against the Spaniard.
