Nick Kyrgios continues to tease his many fans over a return to tennis with his latest update on social media.

Kyrgios is confident of playing the 2025 Australian Open, having last played competitively at the Stuttgart Open last summer.

Since then, the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up has been largely limited to commentary duties, but the Australian did play an exhibition match with Naomi Osaka ahead of the recent US Open.

Moreover, Kyrgios recently shared footage of a practice session, with the 29-year-old closing in on a long-awaited return to competitive action.

Kyrgios has certainly been missed by many fans given his highly entertaining antics on court, although perhaps not many opponents feel the same.

One message read: “You’re my role model, start playing again,” with Kyrgios replying: “I appreciate you. I appreciate all my fans. And I’ll be back Aussie summer 2025 but playing some world team tennis at the end of the year.”

Will Nick Kyrgios make it back onto the court soon?

It has been a long time since Kyrgios last appeared on a court for competitive purposes, with the Australian losing that tie in Germany.

He was beaten 5-7, 3-6 on the grass by Wu Yibing in the round of 32, in what was his only match of the 2023 season.

Wrist and knee issues have forced him away from the court since then, but fortunately the former world number 13 looks like he will return soon.

His injury problems could, of course, prevent his dream return date, in what has been a season filled with player injuries.

Kyrgios’ fellow Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur is among the WTA stars currently sidelined, while British number one Jack Draper has withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters due to injury.
