Love him or hate him, the sport of tennis misses a fit and healthy Nick Kyrgios.
The Australian is a character, and in a sport as fiercely competitive as tennis, the game is in much need of people like Kyrgios.
It’s fair to say that he’s not everyone’s cup of tea on the ATP Tour. Kyrgios made some comments about Jannik Sinner that weren’t well received, and he’s never backwards in coming forward with an opinion.
Sadly, Kyrgios has been ruled out of Wimbledon. Furthermore, he’s also confirmed that he won’t be featuring on the BBC in a punditry capacity either.
This week, Kyrgios has been taking part in a question and answer on his Instagram, and he’s taken offence at one question from a supporter of his.

Nick Kyrgios responds when asked why he doesn’t take tennis seriously
It’s one criticism that has followed Kyrgios around for his entire career.
Taking tennis seriously is something which every player does, but it’s fair to say that some players do take things far more seriously than others.
Kyrgios has sometimes been guilty of maybe not giving absolutely everything that he’s got and a fan has asked him why he’s not always fully focused on the court.
He replied to the question on Instagram: “Guess the people who take it serious and don’t make the Wimbledon final suck then.”
Kyrgios is referring to 2022 when he defied the odds to make the final at Wimbledon before losing to Novak Djokovic.
Kyrgios’ return to tennis is badly needed
With every passing month that he misses, the worry is that Kyrgios will never return.
Even if he does return from this latest setback, it’s fair to say that lots of other players have now overtaken him when it comes to ability.
Kyrgios has been a very useful player on his day, but injuries have taken their toll in recent times.
As a character of the sport, however, Kyrgios is badly needed on the ATP circuit and hopefully, he can make a full recovery this time and get back on the court before the end of the year.
