Iva Jovic has soared up the world rankings after claiming her first WTA Tour title at the Guadalajara Open.
Jovic has risen 37 places in the WTA rankings to 36th with her victory, helping her break the top 50 for the first time.
The 17-year-old American has also surpassed $1million in career prize money after her final win over Emiliana Arango.
Jovic has also become the youngest champion this season following her 6-4, 6-1 win in the WTA 500 final.
The talented teenager needed just over one hour and 35 minutes to achieve the victory in Guadalajara, Mexico.

John Isner predicts how high Iva Jovic can reach in the WTA rankings
Currently the youngest player inside the top 100 of the WTA rankings, Jovic has caught the eye of former player John Isner, who has predicted how high she can reach in 2026.
He said on the Nothing Major Show: “She is another one of the great American players that we have right now.

“I think in a little bit of time, maybe by this time next year, she is going to be mentioned in the same breath as players like Emma Navarro.
“I’m not saying she is going to get to Coco [Gauff] or Madison [Keys] or Jessie’s [Pegula] level but I think she can be a top 20 player for sure.
“She has just won her first title and a big one at that. Really impressive. She is very poised on the court. Her demeanour on court is awesome.
“So a huge future and a lot of upside, with a very long window to keep improving. She is incredibly impressive and it’s another American star to root for which is good to see.”
What is Iva Jovic’s Grand Slam record?
As Isner alluded to, Jovic is among the American teenagers impressing across the WTA and ATP tours right now.
But perhaps she is the most exciting given she is just 17 years old and has just claimed a big title in superb fashion.
| Australian Open | French Open | Wimbledon | US Open | |
| 2025 | 2nd round | 2nd round | 1st round | 2nd round |
| 2024 | – | – | – | 2nd round |
It continues a very impressive season for the American teenager, who competed at all four Grand Slam tournaments.
And while it was undoubtedly too soon to enjoy deep runs, she will have gained fantastic experience against world-class opponents such as Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini.
