Jelena Ostapenko has finished a dream week at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix with a final victory over Aryna Sabalenka.
Ostapenko congratulated Sabalenka on her tournament after the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final, which the Latvian won 6-4, 6-1.
Sitting 24th in the WTA rankings, Ostapenko secured a superb win over the top seed having previously beaten second seed Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals.
It represents a first victory of the season for the 27-year-old, who peaked on clay with her 2017 French Open title.
Ostapenko is now a nine-time WTA winner, with just one hour and 25 minutes needed for her to storm past Sabalenka.

And with the victory, the 2017 French Open champion has equalled a tennis legend in retired superstar Serena Williams.
As per OptaAce, Ostapenko is the first player to beat the WTA’s top two ranked players en route to a clay title since Williams.

The American achieved that feat back in 2012, when she beat Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova at the Madrid Open.

Remarkably, the 27-year-old has also made her own tennis history with her superb display against Sabalenka.
As per OptaAce, she is now the first player to beat both Sabalenka and Swiatek at a single WTA clay tournament.
Ostapenko was handed an early boost when Dayana Yastremska withdrew during their first round match, although the former was leading 6-3, 3-0 at the time.
She then battled past seventh seed Emma Navarro and Swiatek as the event progressed, winning 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 and 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 respectively.
A 6-4, 6-4 semi-final win was then secured against Ekaterina Alexandrova before she overcame Sabalenka for the first time in her career.
In a dominant display, Ostapenko won 59.6% of her total service points, 55.4% of her total return points, and 57.3% of her total points.
