Jannik Sinner has become a Grand Slam champion once again after beating Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final.

Sinner proved some people wrong in the Wimbledon final, as he got revenge over Alcaraz from his heartbreaking defeat at Roland Garros.

Despite losing the first set of the match, Sinner was able to implement his tactics to perfection to win the Wimbledon final in four sets.

Sinner has now reacted to his Wimbledon victory on social media, and he has also revealed what his retirement plans could be.

Jannik Sinner reveals how long he hopes to keep playing tennis

Despite being just 23 years old, Sinner has already been speaking about how long he thinks he will play tennis for.

Tennis players are now competing for a much longer time, and Sinner has suggested that he may have a further 15 years left in him.

“I believe being happy on and off the court heals,” Sinner told the Tennis Channel desk. “Of course if you win it would be easier. But at the same time, having a smile on your face, because the journey is long.

“I am now 23 so hopefully I can play for 10 or 15 more years if I am healthy and thank god I am healthy at the moment, so of course you aim to do that. I just want to keep going and having a smile on my face and of course success is the cherry on the top of the cake.”

If Sinner does continue playing for another 15 years that would take him to 38 years old, which is the current age of Novak Djokovic, who has recently spoken about retirement from tennis.

Jannik Sinner explains what his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz helps him do

Sinner and Alcaraz’s rivalry is continuing to build after playing back-to-back Grand Slam finals against each other.

When speaking about their rivalry, Sinner explained how Alcaraz forces him to make improvements to his game.

The world number one also spoke about the personal side of their relationship, as Sinner spoke about his friendship with Alcaraz.

“I think for me personally it is great to have him because you always walk off the court and even today, you won, but you still are like there are a couple of things I could do better or you have to try to keep going and keep working because at the moment it’s me and Carlos, but who knows in the future because there are so many great players out there and it’s so difficult to get to a moment when you play a final of a Grand Slam against Carlos and the way to do that is that you have to pass some very tough obstacles,” explained Sinner.

“The rivalry with me, we have a great friendship off the court, and of course on the court we push each other to the limits and until now this is a great thing for both of us.”

Sinner has now closed the gap in both the number of Grand Slam titles and his head-to-head with Alcaraz ahead of the North American hard court swing.

This is where Sinner will look to defend titles in both Cincinnati and the US Open, but first he is scheduled to compete in Toronto.
