Jannik Sinner has taken the 2024 men’s tennis season by storm.

He has won seven titles this year, including his first two Grand Slam championships and he will end the campaign as the World number one.

The Italian has won 65 matches so far and he can still add to his 2024 trophy haul, with the Paris Masters and ATP Finals still to come.

Sinner has enjoyed what has been a truly fantastic year, which began following a poignant moment at the end of the 2023 season.

Which moments were the catalyst for Jannik Sinner’s 2024 season?

In 2023, Jannik Sinner equalled his best trophy tally in season until that point in his career with four. But it was the 23-year-old’s final event of that season that propelled him to the success he has achieved in 2024.

Sinner came back from the brink to claim his second victory over Novak Djokovic and help Italy win their Davis Cup semi-final tie against Serbia.

They went on to beat Australia in the final and secure their first Davis Cup title since 1976. This gave Sinner the confidence to beat Djokovic again at January’s Australian Open, before going to win his first Grand Slam title.

“Yes it’s a very very nice moment for me. I worked very hard in my young career to be in this position,” Sinner said after beating Daniil Medvedev at the Six Kings Slam.

“There are many many years of work. At the end of last year I had a great run winning the Davis cup with the team members.

“Winning the first slam of the year gave me confidence to produce some great tennis throughout the whole year. Always trying to keep improving and evolving. This is what I love about being a tennis player.”

Jannik Sinner is set for a Novak Djokovic rematch after Shanghai Masters final

Sinner is competing at the Six Kings Slam exhibition event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He defeated Medvedev 6-0, 6-3 to advance to the next round where he will play Djokovic, less than two weeks after squaring off in the Shanghai Masters final.

The Serbian has a bye into the next round of the Six Kings Slam, as does 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, who will play Carlos Alcaraz in Saudi Arabia.

Sinner will go in as the favourite given his most recent win against Djokovic and the fact he has claimed four of the pair’s last five matches.
