Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz have both been at the top of the most Googled tennis player list.

Jannik Sinner was picked over Alcaraz as their favorite tennis player on the ATP Tour right now by The Tennis Gazette readers.

There are also some very popular current players on the WTA Tour, with Alexandra Eala’s popularity on full display at the Australian Open.

While all of these players may be loved among tennis fans, who has actually been the most searched on Google every year since 2010?

Every year’s most Googled tennis player since 2010

From the Google statistics over the years, six different people have been the most Googled tennis player since 2010.

This includes so far in 2026, with Australian Open champion Carlos Alcaraz capitalising on his historic victory in Melbourne.

Alcaraz is currently on track to be the most Googled tennis player of the year for a second time, after losing this title in 2025 to Jannik Sinner.

The last year Alcaraz was the most Googled tennis player was in 2024, when he ended Novak Djokovic’s four-year reign at the top.

Djokovic has spent the most years as the most Googled tennis player since 2010, having done so seven times in this period.

Closely following Djokovic is Serena Williams, who has topped the list five times and is the only WTA player in this.

There are a lot of rumors about Williams returning to tennis at the moment, which could put her back in contention to top list once again in 2026 if it does come true.

The other two players in this list are none other than Federer and Rafael Nadal, who have both been the most Googled tennis player in one year since 2010.

Who was the last most Googled WTA player before Serena Williams?

Williams was the only woman to be the most Googled tennis player since 2010, with there seven years since she topped the list in 2013 and anyone other WTA player doing the same.

That player was Maria Sharapova, who was the most Googled tennis player in 2006.

This was actually the third consecutive year that Sharapova was the most Googled tennis player, having also topped the list in 2004 and 2005.

These years were around the time when Sharapova won her first Grand Slam title after beating Williams in the 2004 Wimbledon final.

Sharapova then backed it up in 2006 after winning her second major title at the US Open.

It is unclear as to how far behind Alcaraz any WTA players are at the moment, with the ATP Tour currently dominating the most Googled list for tennis players.
