Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are two of the most popular players in the world of tennis.
The world’s number one and two have won the last eight available Grand Slam titles.
In doing so, they’ve made millions of fans around the world.
But who is the favorite?
Who is your favorite ATP player right now?
We asked The Tennis Gazette readers to name their favorite ATP player on TalkingPoints and received a definitive answer.
Tennis fans prefer Jannik Sinner to Carlos Alcaraz
The Italian received plenty of comments, far more than his Spanish rival.
“Sinner….duh!” said one fan.
“Sinner… Bold with personal decision. Stares down toxic bullets from detractors… Takes the ups and downs, Life on the chin… Still respects all those he comes across… An old soul indeed… My favorite,” added another.

But why did Sinner get the nod over Alcaraz for so many fans?
One commenter explained why he prefers the four-time Grand Slam champion.
“Jannik Sinner!” they said.
“Carlos [Alcaraz] has gone down in my book for playing too many exhibitions when he should be recovering from injury.
“Needs to be more professional on the ATP circuit.
“Jannik also is the best at speaking after winning a tournament with Novak [Djokovic].”
While the majority favored Sinner, not everyone agreed…
“Sinner is so dull and robotic,” one fan said.
“At least Carlos is extremely exciting and fun to watch, so if he takes it, it won’t be as exciting as a new face winning, but it’ll be a great show.”

The quantity of Sinner votes far outweighed anyone else on the ATP Tour, but that’s not to say there weren’t other players mentioned.
“Novak Djokovic,” said several fans.
“Taylor Fritz and [Alexander] Zverev,” said one.
What is preventing Taylor Fritz from winning a Grand Slam?
“Andrey [Rublev],” added another.
“[Felix] Auger-Aliassime,” said one.
“[Ben] Shelton,” another fan commented.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and it’s interesting to see such a variety of different responses.
Sinner winning by such a landslide was somewhat surprising, but perhaps it shouldn’t have been.
After all, he did win his third consecutive ‘ATP Fans’ Favourite award’ in 2025.

- 2021 – Roger Federer

It is Alcaraz, however, who has the most social media followers.

Are Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner going to win all four Grand Slams in 2026?

TalkingPoints voters predict the 2026 Australian Open

While those votes are for the Australian Open, it’s hard to imagine fans deviating too much for the three other Grand Slam events in 2026.
Sinner and Alcaraz are the class of the field, but what about the chasing pack?
Djokovic is the first name that comes to mind, having reached all four major semifinals in 2025.
He did, however, lose all four, and at 38, he isn’t getting any younger.
Then there’s Alexander Zverev, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up.
The German didn’t inspire much confidence last year, though, and hasn’t beaten either Alcaraz or Sinner since November 2024.

Then there are the likes of Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Lorenzo Musetti, and Jack Draper.
Of the names listed, Draper seems best-suited to taking down the top two, but his injury issues are a real concern.
The Brit hasn’t won a tour-level match since Wimbledon and is set to miss this year’s Australian Open.
Only time will tell if anyone can stop Alcaraz and Sinner from winning all four Grand Slams in 2026, but you certainly won’t want to miss any of the action.
The 2026 Australian Open is scheduled to begin on Sunday, January 18.
