Carlos Alcaraz is now already looking ahead to his next tournaments after his shock early Miami Open exit.
Alcaraz was clearly unhappy during his third round defeat to Sebastian Korda, who beat the world number one 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
Despite the match taking place in Miami, the American fans were more in support of Alcaraz than Korda, but the latter was still able to beat the Spaniard.
In his post-match press conference, Alcaraz admitted he is finding something annoying about his matches at the moment, as he also explained what he plans to do next.

Alcaraz would have been expecting to do much better at the Miami Open, but his hard court season is now over until the US Open swing later this year.

When speaking in his press conference, Alcaraz revealed that he now planned to go home and relax, but he was not sure how long he would have to do so until getting back to practice ahead of the clay court season.
“Well, I don’t know. I don’t know,” said Alcaraz. “Probably I’m going to go back home, which I’m just looking forward to, stay chilling with my family, with my friends.
“A couple of days. I don’t know how much they, my team, are going to allow me to have rest and days off. And all of a sudden you just go back on track, go back on the court.
“The clay season is around the corner and I have really good tournaments that I’m excited about playing there. My mind right now is to take some days off, reset my mind, reset batteries and be ready and in a good state for the clay season.”

Alcaraz has a busy clay court season ahead, with a potential of five tournaments to play including the French Open.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion had a very successful clay court season in 2025, with Alcaraz winning the French Open, Italian Open and the Monte Carlo Masters, as well as reaching the final of the Barcelona Open.
As a result, Alcaraz has a huge 4,330 ranking points to defend during the clay court season, with Jannik Sinner hoping to close the gap on the world number one.

While this is the case, Alcaraz did miss the Madrid Open due to injury last year and therefore has an opportunity to make up some of his points at his home Masters 1000 tournament.
Alcaraz’s first clay court tournament is at the Monte Carlo Masters, which gets underway on Sunday, April 5.
