Aryna Sabalenka has defeated Jessica Pegula to win the US Open for the very first time in her career.
Sabalenka messaged her fans before the US Open final, where she overcame Pegula 7-5, 7-5 at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

But the sixth seed can be extremely proud of her efforts at the tournament and indeed in the hard-court summer.
The home favourite overcame the likes of Karolina Muchov and number one seed Iga Swiatek to reach the final, but Sabalenka ultimately proved too much for Pegula.
