Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu are a big talking point ahead of Wimbledon this year.

Alcaraz and Raducanu are set to partner at the US Open in mixed doubles later this year that features many top singles players.

There has been a lot of speculation about Alcaraz and Raducanu in particular, with the pair also practicing together ahead of Wimbledon.

The Spaniard has now spoken about Raducanu, giving his verdict on her game ahead of the grass court major.

Raducanu has fitness concerns ahead of Wimbledon this year, with an ongoing back problem disrupting her grass court season.

This is something that Alcaraz acknowledged when speaking to HypeBeast about Raducanu, but backed the former US Open champion to return to the top of the WTA Tour in the future.

“I mean she… she plays great,” said Alcaraz. “Obviously she’s been struggling a bit lately, but I’m pretty sure that I mean I’m pretty sure she’s gonna get there because I have a lot of confidence in her.

“Yeah, we had fun you know earlier. So she’s… her game is pretty high, so I, I trust that this is gonna be, she’s going to be at the top very soon.”

Alcaraz was subsequently asked in this interview about what he thought Raducanu would make of his game.

It was actually Raducanu who became a Grand Slam champion first, but Alcaraz’s French Open victory means he is now a five-time major winner.

At first Alcaraz joked that Raducanu does not enjoy his game style, before revealing that he hopes she actually likes the way he plays.

“That it’s a disaster! (laughs) That I didn’t deserve to be there!” Alcaraz joked. “No, I hope… I hope she said like, you know my game or my level is quite good. She enjoys watching my matches or whatever, so I hope that she’d say that but I’m not sure.”

Alcaraz is a two-time defending Wimbledon champion and will start his 2025 campaign against former top 10 player Fabio Fognini.

Raducanu will also play on Monday, June 30, kicking off her grass court major against fellow Brit Mingge Xu.
