Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal both possess devastating forehands but the 21-year-old commented on which one is more powerful.

One of the World number two’s greatest qualities is his ability to generate extreme power and aggression off his forehand.

It has enabled Carlos Alcaraz to put his opponents under a great deal of pressure with this shot and it has catapulted him to plenty of success in the game at such a young age.

The French Open and Wimbledon champion is due to face Nadal at the Six Kings Slam on Thursday and he is relishing the chance to play his idol one final time.

Does Carlos Alcaraz think he has a more powerful forehand than Rafael Nadal?

Rafael Nadal possesses arguably the greatest forehand in the history of tennis.

The lethal combination of whip, speed and spin allowed him to create impeccable angles to force his opponents into uncomfortable positions on court.

Along with the brute power, the 38-year-old overwhelmed opponents with his shot throughout his illustrious career.

Alcaraz’s playing style has been compared to his Olympics doubles partner, and now he has been asked if his forehand is stronger than the 22-time Grand Slam champion.

“I am at the start of my career so I have to choose Rafa’s forehand at the moment,” Alcaraz said after beating Holger Rune at the Six Kings Slam.

“But I am really happy with my forehand as well, so let’s see at the end of my career who has the better forehand.”

Carlos Alcaraz will face Rafael Nadal at the Six Kings Slam

Alcaraz defeated Rune 6-4, 6-2 at the Six Kings Slam to set up a match with Nadal on Thursday.

He will be one of the final opponents of Nadal’s career, with the veteran due to retire after November’s Davis Cup finals.

After defeating the Dane, Alcaraz shared some touching words about a player who inspired him to follow in his footsteps and become a tennis player.

“Yeah. I have watched his matches since I started playing. I look up to him,” Alcaraz said. “I grew up watching him. He was my idol. He’s still my idol. It’s a shame he announced he’s retiring.

“A really important person in my life. For my career. He was one of the reasons I wanted to become a tennis player. Knowing he’s retiring is tough for everyone.

“For me, it’s a privilege playing against him once again. It’s gonna be tough for me. I’ll enjoy sharing the court with him once again. It’s really difficult for everyone.”
