In the aftermath of the Paris Olympic Games Carlos Alcaraz has assessed his doubles partnership with Rafael Nadal.
The Spanish duo teamed up to go for gold in what was one of the most highly-anticipated doubles pairings in recent memory.
Fans were captivated seeing one of the game’s greatest play alongside a future all-time great as two generations combined.
They certainly entertained the crowds that gathered to watch them play and the memories of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz coming together for what is likely to be just one tournament will never be forgotten.
How does Carlos Alcaraz assess his partnership with Rafael Nadal at the Olympics now?
The possibility of Alcaraz and Nadal teaming up had been a possibility for several months before the Olympics.
Nadal and Alcaraz’s Olympics partnership was not confirmed until June and once they both arrived in Paris on the eve of the Olympic Games, they began to practice together.
Though they entered the tournament without playing any competitive matches together, Nadal and Alcaraz still reached the Olympics quarter-finals.
During a conversation with the ATP Tour, Alcaraz reflected on his partnership with Nadal and the time he spent with the 22-time Grand Slam champion in the French capital.
“It was something that I will never forget, for sure. I learned a lot talking to him on court, off the court as well,” Alcaraz said. “I think we played great tennis in doubles, even if we are not used to playing doubles very often.
“A little bit disappointing at the end, because we thought that we could do it better, but in general, we were happy. And obviously talking about myself, I reached my dream, my dream came true, playing doubles alongside Rafa.”

What were Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal’s results at the Olympic Games?
Nadal competed at his fourth Olympic Games in Paris and competed in both singles and the men’s doubles.
After some doubts surrounding a thigh injury sustained in training, Nadal took to the court for his singles match against Marton Fucsovics. He advanced to round two where his singles run ended at the hands of his great rival Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz reached the final of the singles competition and he was denied gold by Djokovic who became the Olympic champion.
As a pair, Nadal and Alcaraz beat Argentina’s Maximo Gonzalez and Andrés Molteni before defeating Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof in round two.
But the accomplished pair of Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek proved a step too for the Spanish duo, as a 2-6, 4-6 loss ended their quest for an Olympic medal.
