Novak Djokovic is still impressing in the latter stages of his decorated career as a professional tennis player.

Djokovic has spoken about retirement more than ever before this year, having struggled at points to find the same form that has won him 24 Grand Slam titles.

The Serbian has seen somewhat of a resurgence over the last couple of months, with Djokovic beating Miomir Kecmanovic to reach the second week of Wimbledon once again.

While he has not won a major title in nearly two years, Djokovic appears to have sent a message to Jannik Sinner after his latest victory.

Someone who knows about retiring from tennis after enjoying an illustrious career is 12-time major winner Billie Jean King, who has now revealed her wish for Djokovic.

Billie Jean King has a wish for Novak Djokovic before he retires

King was present at Wimbledon on day six of the 2025 Championships as part of the Royal box on Centre Court, where Djokovic beat Kecmanovic in the final match of the day.

Before taking her seat on Centre Court, King spoke to beIn Sports about the current state of tennis and praised Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner as the two best players on the ATP Tour.

King also revealed her wish for Djokovic to win one more major title to make history.

“You have to go with Alcaraz and Sinner, they’re the best right now,” said King. “They’re the new generation coming, Sabalenka’s the new generation, I’ve been through five or six generations so I know. Now the big three guys except for… Djokovic I’d like to see him win one more Slam.”

She added when asked if she thinks Djokovic can win Wimbledon, “I don’t know if it’s a good bet or not, but I would wish it for him so he has the most Slams.”

Can Novak Djokovic make history and win another Grand Slam?

Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles in his career, more than any other player in the Open Era.

However, he is still tied on overall major singles victories with Margaret Court, who won 13 of her 24 Grand Slams before tennis turned professional in 1968.

It has now been six Grand Slam titles where he has failed to win a major, with the last major triumph coming when Djokovic lifted the 2023 US Open.

Wimbledon is seen as Djokovic’s best chance to win a 25th major title, something he has even admitted himself.

Djokovic will look to continue his campaign for history when he takes on Alex de Minaur for a place in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
