Novak Djokovic continues to move forward in the Wimbledon draw as he edges closer to a 25th Grand Slam title.

After Djokovic struggled his way past Alexandre Muller in his opening match, the Serb kicked into gear at Wimbledon.

In round two, Djokovic dominated Dan Evans, dropping just five games against the British star as he booked his place in the third round.

Facing off against his fellow Serb, the 38-year-old showed no mercy, as Djokovic defeated Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4.

Reacting to the world number six’s latest win, 2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli claimed Djokovic had sent a message to the rest of the field.

Marion Bartoli suggests Novak Djokovic sent a message to Jannik Sinner with ‘statement’ win

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Bartoli shared her thoughts on Djokovic’s straight-sets win over Kecmanovic.

“It is totally a statement,” she said.

“That performance from Novak Djokovic, we had moments of him like that, but not a full match of him like that for quite a while.

“For me, that’s the message he’s sending now to the rest of the field, and most likely Jannik Sinner.”

First up on Centre Court, Jannik Sinner produced a convincing win of his own, taking down Spain’s Pedro Martinez in straight sets 6-1, 6-3, 6-1.

Sinner and Djokovic look to be on a collision course to meet in the semi-finals, although Bartoli was keen to highlight the challenges the Serb’s fourth-round opponent could pose.

Alex de Minaur next is a very difficult opponent, especially on the grass,” she said.

Reflecting on the match itself, Bartoli was impressed by Djokovic’s composure when things got tough at the end of the third set.

“We were watching this, thinking poor Miomir [Kecmanovic], he’s just hanging in there to win one game,” she said.

“You’re up 5-1 *15-30 as Novak [Djokovic] mentioned and next thing you know, you relax yourself one or two percent, miss one or two shots and it’s 5-4, 15-30 on your own serve and you’re a couple of points away from being back at 5-5, and you have to redo everything.

“That’s why I was so impressed.”

Maintaining his composure, Djokovic held serve to secure the win in straight sets, clinching his 100th Wimbledon victory.

He’ll now turn his attention to the last 16 and a fourth career meeting with De Minaur, although Bartoli believes Djokovic may already have one eye on the semi-finals and final.

Novak Djokovic is ‘preparing himself’ for the Wimbledon semi-final and final

The 40-year-old Frenchwoman proceeded to explain what Djokovic will need to do if he wants to win his 25th Grand Slam at the All England Club.

“He’s preparing himself for what is to come in the semi-final and final of Wimbledon, if he wants to get that 25th Grand Slam,” said Bartoli.

“He knows that he needs to play harder tennis than what he produced at the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year.

“Those two Grand Slams showed him his limits this year.

“He very much tries everything he can to make sure this time at Wimbledon, he has no limit.”

Djokovic knows he’ll need to play better than he has so far in 2025 if he wants to win Wimbledon, especially with Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz still lurking in the draw.

But how has the Serb fared so far in his career against the world number one and two?
