Carlos Alcaraz is very much the man of the moment on the ATP Tour, and today he will try and get his hands on a second title at Queen’s.

Alcaraz came through in convincing style against Roberto Bautista-Agut to set up a showdown with Jack Draper’s conqueror, Jiri Lehecka.

Earlier this month, Alcaraz won the French Open, and he will be in search of a sixth Grand Slam title when he takes to Wimbledon in a couple of weeks.

The 22-year-old is hot on the heels of Jannik Sinner at the summit of the world rankings, and it looks only a matter of time before he takes his spot.

Andy Roddick makes claim about Carlos Alcaraz after Queen’s win

It was always likely to be a win for Alcaraz against his compatriot yesterday, but there have been some shock results over the last week in London.

Alcaraz has avoided them, however, and he’s now in the final of the competition that he won by beating Alex de Minaur during the 2023 event.

Roddick has compared Alcaraz to Roger Federer after his latest win and believes one shot reminds him so much of the legendary player.

He told the Tennis Channel Live Podcast: “I was imagining the conversation before the match, what Bautista Agut’s team were lying to him about what chances he had in this against Carlos in full flight.

“I mean, even he’s laughing at the Chuckster. The forehand was absolutely in full flight all day.

“The ability to hit in motion like that is Roger-esque, putting away the ball. It’s almost like he’s just pure little play on instinct. His mixed doubles partner, Emma Raducanu, is making it out to watch the match today, but this was one-way traffic all day today. With Carlos Alcaraz. More of the same.

Alcaraz will be the man to beat at Wimbledon

Right now, Sinner is the world’s best player but only in a matter of looking at the world rankings.

At every tournament he enters, Alcaraz should be the overwhelming favourite given that he never knows when he’s beaten at the moment.

Alcaraz and Sinner have won the last six Grand Slam titles between them and it’s quite remarkable and scary to think what they could both achieve in the future.

Both players look like dangerous propositions on grass and the hope will be that Wimbledon sees the two produce another blockbuster final as they did at Roland Garros earlier this month.

Alcaraz is going for a third title in succession at the All England Club and on current form, it’s hard to back against him.
