Casper Ruud’s preparations for the Wimbledon Championships have been disrupted.
After winning the Madrid Open, the biggest title of his career so far, things have not been easy for the Norwegian.
He was comprehensively beaten by Jannik Sinner in Rome where he managed to win just one game, before losing in the second round at the French Open, during which Ruud took a medical timeout.
Ruud has not played since his early exit in Paris and it is unknown when he will play his first match of the season on grass.

Casper Ruud issues fitness update after pulling out of the Mallorca Open before Wimbledon
Casper Ruud was due to begin his grass court season at the Mallorca Championships.
The ATP 250 event is due to commence on June 21 and run through to June 28, two days before Wimbledon Championships commence.
But the tournament will take place without Ruud, who confirmed his withdrawal due to a knee injury and it is unknown if he will be fit for Wimbledon.
“Just a quick update from my side. I am back on court training. The knee is feeling quite a bit better but unfortunately not 100% ready to compete yet,” Ruud said in a video posted on the tournament’s X page.
“I am entered for the Mallorca Championships next week, which I unfortunately will have to withdraw from.
“I will keep training and pushing to be ready for Wimbledon but Mallorca will not be within reach for me, so I am really sorry for all the people there. I love Mallorca and I love going there.
“I hope I can go back another time because I was very excited for it. But I need to listen to the body and I will keep training and hopefully see you back on court soon.”

What is Casper Ruud’s Wimbledon record?
Wimbledon is Ruud’s least successful Grand Slam in his career so far.
The World number 16 has made five appearances in the main draw at SW19, but he has yet to progress beyond the second round.
Ruud has played just eight matches at Wimbledon and won just three, giving him a win percentage of just 38%.
Ruud’s total grass court record stands at five wins and seven defeats, and he has yet to win a title on the surface.
